About Me

My name is Kevin Dennis, and I am currently a Ph.D. Student at the University of South Florida. In 2018 I received my bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from USF. Currently, my research interests and active work are in web application security, but I also have an interest in the security of transportation and other cyber-physical systems.

My interest in security started my sophomore year of college when I joined the USF Whitehatters Computer Security Club. Since then, I've been passionate about competing in Capture the Flag competitions and served as the club's vice president in 2019 and president in 2020. In these positions, I was able to share the skills I had learned with my fellow students.

When not working, I'm probably watching or reading something about Star Wars or playing video games (my current favorite is Kingdom Come: Deliverance).  I was born and raised in Florida, and I am married to the most wonderful woman in the world, Sara. Growing up, my family was involved in foster care, and we adopted two wonderful little girls, leading to my strong beliefs in the importance of family, hard work, and personal responsibility.
